10 Considerations When Choosing A Bed

  1. Are you looking for a bed for the master bedroom or a guest room? This will affect size, style, and your maximum price.

  2. Bed size is important...larger beds typically provide more comfort.

  3. What is the height of the tallest person sleeping in the bed? The bed should be at least 4-6” longer.

  4. Choose quality over cost...most people will likely keep their bed for at least ten years.

  5. The bed must fit into the room, allowing space for easy entrance and exit from the room as well as ease of opening and closing doors.

  6. Consider storage needs...would a bed offering storage space be beneficial?

  7. What are your tastes and preferences? Are you looking for tradition, grandeur, charm & romance, or practicality? Are you trying to complement existing case goods?

  8. If seeking a bed for a child’s room, will the bed be used for only a few years or will it follow the child through to adulthood?

  9. A bed built with a solid frame for durability prolongs the life of the box spring and mattress.

  10. Remember...anyone sleeping in the bed should be involved in selection.
